The Wolfman 2010

The film starts off with the original rhyme as told by Maleva. It then cuts to Ben Talbot, in the Blackmoor woods armed with a pistol. He is confronted by a werewolf which claws his face and then guts him. He flees towards a nearby mausoleum, with the creature in pursuit.

Travelling actor Lawrence Talbot returns to his ancestral home to investigate the whereabouts of his recently missing brother upon request from Ben's fiance Gwen Conliffe, via written letter. His distant and eccentric father Sir John Talbot greets him and reveals that his brother Ben's body was already found in a ditch and surmises he will attend the funeral. Lawrence inquires about the body and goes to see it, where it is stored at the local mortuary: Ben's remains are thoroughly mangled and torn apart.

He finds a mysterious medallion among his brother's belongings, and is told it came from the nearby Gypsy camp, to which Ben acted as the town's liaison. He travels there, against his father's admonition and on a full moon. He arrives at the camp and is told that the item is from Maleva. He goes to see her and she warns him of great danger. An unnamed werewolf suddenly rampages through the camp, killing and maiming most of the villagers. A young boy strays from the camp and the werewolf gives chase. Lawrence follows, armed, but the boy ignores him. He is subsequently attacked by the werewolf and bitten on the neck, though the gypsies scare it off and Lawrence is tended to and taken to his father.

He heals unnaturally quickly and finds the wound no more than just a scar (which disappears later). He explores his house at night, remembering walking outside during the night and finding his father cradling his dead mother (she had slit her own throat with a straight razor). Inspector Francis Aberline of Scotland Yard arrives and questions Lawrence: both are suspicious of each other, and Aberline departs. Lawrence wanders to a nearby lake and Gwen follows, where they converse and seem to establish a flirtatious relationship. Soon after priests and the local religious men arrive to take Lawrence away and kill him, claiming he "bears the mark of the beast", but his father saves him, threatening to shoot them if they trespass at Talbot Hall again.

Many nights after on the full moon, the villagers arm themselves with guns packed with silver bullets and set a trap for the werewolf at the ruins of an old church, using a stag as bait. That night, Lawrence sees his father walking out to the crypt. He follows and finds a cell containing his father and a shrine to his mother. Sir John then locks the door with Lawrence outside just as his son begins to transform into the Wolfman for the first time. Elsewhere, Aberline plans to spend the evening at the local tavern to wait for the suspect's attack. Lawrence, now fully changed alerts everyone to his presence by howling for the first time. He attacks and kills all of the villagers that set the trap, and Aberline stumbles upon the horrific aftermath.

When he changes back the next day he is greeted by his father. He is arrested by the police and Aberline, and is taken to the mental institution his father sent him to as a child. He is relentlessly tortured by the doctors, who claim his lycanthropy is simply a delusion: he also begins to suffer severe hallucinations involving the Wolfman and Gwen. He awakens in his cell sometime later, his father now with him. He explains that the institution had convinced him that his mother killed herself, but what he really saw was his father as a werewolf, who had killed his mother. Sir John then explains how he was bitten by a wolf-boy or feral child in a cave when he was game hunting in the Hindu Kush mountains with his friends, and how for the past 25 years, Singh the man servant has locked him in the crypt, but one night in a jealous, drunken rage (as Sir John confessed that he had become attracted to and obsessed with Gwen) he incapacitated Singh and was therefore unable to lock himself in, resulting in Ben's death at his hands. It is and also confirmed that it was Sir John who bit Lawrence. Lawrence vows to kill his father, a threat Sir John blithely dismisses.
Lawrence is taken into a court of scholars to prove to Lawrence as the full moon comes out that he will not transform. He transforms and butchers a number of the men in attendance (including the doctors and orderlies who tortured him), then rampages across London until dawn. He flees to Gwen's home for safety: she takes him in and they admit their feelings to each other. Aberline orders his men to capture Lawrence, who is traveling back to Blackmoor to kill Sir John. Meanwhile, Gwen meets with Maleva where she tries to find a way to lift the curse.

Lawrence arrives at Talbot Manor to find Singh's rotting and eviscerated body. Lawrence arms himself with the man servant's silver bullets and finds one of Aberline's men, dead in Sir John's armchair. He meets his father and tries to shoot, but Sir John reveals that he removed the gunpowder from the bullets long ago. Both he and Lawrence transform and fight, setting the mansion on fire in the process. Sir John has the upper hand on Lawrence until he is kicked into the fireplace: Lawrence knocks his burning father's head off. Aberline and Gwen arrive on the scene. Aberline tries to shoot, but Gwen pushes him away, allowing the Wolfman to bite Aberline and throw him aside. Gwen runs into the forest, only to be chased down by the Wolfman. Just as Lawrence is about to attack, she pleads for him to stop, bringing out the slightest of human emotions left in him. But when he hears the nearby mob, he violently panics, losing his restraint. Gwen then shoots Lawrence with a silver bullet in reluctant self-defense. Before he dies he turns back into a human and spends his last moments with Gwen. The mob arrive and they see Aberline, who appears clutching the silver cane. Gwen's parting words are heard as Talbot Manor appears in flames and a wolf's howl is heard, presumably from Aberline.

The Archangel Michael (Bettany) falls to Earth in Los Angeles, cuts off his wings, and raids a police arsenal for a cache of automatic weapons. Confronted by two LAPD officers, one becomes possessed and kills the other. Michael kills the possessed cop and steals his car.

The remainder of the story takes place in a small roadside diner and garage in the middle of the New Mexico desert. Its semi-permanent residents are the diner's owner, Bob Hanson (Quaid), his son Jeep (Black), the short-order cook Percy (Charles S. Dutton) and the waitress, Charlie (Palicki). Charlie is pregnant with an absentee father's child, and Jeep has always loved her, though he is afraid to say so. Also present are a single father on his way to L.A., Kyle (Tyrese Gibson), and an urban married couple, Howard and Sandra Anderson (Jon Tenney and Kate Walsh), and their rebellious teenaged daughter, Audrey (Willa Holland), who have been temporarily stranded at the diner after their car has broken down. An elderly woman named Gladys (Jeanette Miller) comes in and starts acting strangely, telling Charlie that her baby "is going to burn." When she insults Sandra as well, Howard gets up to demand an apology, and Gladys attacks him, biting a hole in his throat, and then crawls up the wall like a spider. She taunts Jeep, before she is fatally shot by Kyle. Kyle and Sandra try to drive Howard to the nearest hospital, but are forced to turn back by a cloud of flies darkening the sky.

With the phones and radio down, the diner is cut off from the outside world. Michael arrives and begins issuing guns to the bewildered inhabitants. He explains that God has lost faith in mankind, and ordered his angels to carry out the Apocalypse. He has disobeyed God's orders, and has come to protect mankind's only hope: Charlie's baby, who is fated to be the world's savior. For that very reason, the angels will soon be laying siege to the diner, trying to kill Charlie and her baby (Gladys was a "scout", a human possessed by another angel). As night falls, a wave of possessed humans attacks the barricaded diner. Michael and the others hold them off, but the wounded Howard is dragged outside and disappears.

The next day, Sandra hears her husband's voice calling to her, and looks outside to see him being Crucified upside down, his body covered with boils and sores. Michael warns her that it is a trap, but she runs outside, where "Howard" bursts full of acid. Percy shields Sandra from the acid, but is killed himself. On the second night, Kyle is killed in the second attack, duped by an angel masquerading as a child in danger. As the second wave is repelled, Charlie goes into labor, and delivers her baby, a boy. Michael warns them that this is both good and bad: good because the boy acts as a shield against the other angels; bad because God is now likely to send another being like himself, who can get close to the child: the Archangel Gabriel. Sandra, losing the last of her sanity, snatches the baby and prepares to give it up in exchange for their lives. As she nears the door, Michael shoots her and Jeep snatches the baby back. Gabriel arrives and wounds Bob with his sharp steel like angel wings. Michael tells Jeep, Charlie and Audrey to get the baby away, while he holds off Gabriel. The three walk the baby through the crowd of possessed persons, who clear a path for them, and speed away in a car.

Gabriel and Michael fight, and Gabriel wins, stabbing Michael through the heart with his mace. Then he sees the dying Bob, who lights a flame to the diner's gas main, blowing up the diner and destroying the remaining possessed. However, Gabriel survives, and swoops down on the fleeing car. As he tries to reach Charlie, Jeep slams on the brakes, sending the car into a crash that pitches Gabriel out, but kills Audrey. Gabriel finally corners Jeep, Charlie and her baby in the mountains. He is about to kill them, when Michael appears, fully angelic again. His refusal to give up on mankind, including sacrificing his own life, has convinced God to change His mind and give humanity a second chance. Gabriel and Michael fly away, before which Michael tells Jeep and Charlie to take care of the baby. Jeep and Charlie, now a couple, are last seen driving down the road, with Charlie nursing her baby, and Michael's arsenal of guns in their backseat.

The film begins and ends with the same monologue by Charlie: telling how her mother's view of God changed while Charlie was a child, from a loving and merciful God to a stern and unforgiving one. When the young Charlie asked why He had changed, her mother said, "I don't know. Maybe He was just tired of all the bullshit."

Derek Thompson (Dwayne Johnson) is a minor league hockey player nicknamed "The Tooth Fairy" for hitting opposing players so hard that he knocks out their teeth. He quashes a young fan's aspiration to play in the NHL just like he "used to" (he broke his shoulder many years ago during play and is now a "sideshow attraction") and he steals a dollar from his girlfriend Carly's (Ashley Judd) 6-year-old daughter Tess (Destiny Whitlock), who lost a tooth, for his poker game and was about to tell Tess that there is no such thing as a tooth fairy.

While sleeping, he receives a summon under his pillow, stating that must serve time as a "real" tooth fairy for shattering children's dreams. He suddenly grows wings and magically wears a tutu and gets transported to the realm of tooth fairies. He meets Tracy, the case worker, and the two of them begin a fight and Derek breaks Tracy's wand. The head fairy, Lily (Julie Andrews) tells Derek that he is a "dream crusher" and nearly endangered the existence of tooth fairies. He was about to serve one week as a tooth fairy, but now must serve 2 weeks for staging a fight with Tracy. He returns to his bed, waking up believing that it was all a dream.

The next night with Carly, he receives a text message from Tracy for his first appointment, now realizing it wasn't a dream. He meets Jerry (Billy Crystal), who gives him the things he needs for his tooth fairy duty, including Shrinking Paste, Invisible Spray, Amnesia Dust, Cat Away, and mints that makes people bark like a dog. Derek constantly tries his best to become a good tooth fairy, though ends up slammed by a door, flushed down by a toilet, makes a family - during a party - completely filled with amnesia, makes his mean new player sound like a dog and getting him benched, and gets his wing bitten by a puppy. Lily states that he is "the worst tooth fairy ever". Derek asks for more stuff for his duty, but denies. However, he buys some tooth fairy stuff from a sneaky fairy. He uses his new stuff for his next duty, however, the Invisible Spray hardly makes him invisible and the Shrinking Paste does not shrink him, instead it makes his head big. A mother who freaks out calls the police stating "there is an alien on my lawn". Derek realizes that he has been tricked and gets arrested. While behind bars, Tracy tells Derek cause of this, his duty is extended to 3 weeks and Carly comes to bail out Derek.

He receives his next appointment, but falls asleep in the tooth fairy waiting room, causing him to miss the appointment. "This is bull----" says Derek. The next day, Carly and Tess goes to a makeover party, leaving him taking care of Carly's teenage son, Randy (Chase Ellison), who wants to grow up to be a rockstar and dislikes him for being "just like her past boyfriends". Derek takes Randy to a guitar store to let him try out a guitar, while he looks for some drums. Randy tries it, while a girl Randy has a crush on listens to him, though her "boyfriend" tells her not to talk to this "emo kid" and threatens to take his guitar, but Derek scares him away and Randy grows to Derek.

Derek becomes a better tooth fairy, while helping Randy practice for his school's talent show and helping Tracy become an "actual" tooth fairy, and Randy helps him become a real NHL player. Things get better for everybody, thanks to Derek.
However, during Derek's next game, he attempts to make a goal, but ends up nervous, gets pushed, falls, and fails. His coach yells at him, stating "You're not a hockey player, you're a sideshow attraction. How you'd you like to spend tomorrow night's game on the bench". Derek returns home with Tess telling him that she lost another tooth and Randy being in the talent show. However, Derek sadly tells them to stop believing, there is no such thing as dreams, and that Randy will never become a rock star. Randy, in rage, smashes his guitar in half and escorts Tess to the car; Carly ends their relationship and drives back home. Tracy comes to his house and announces that he is an "official" tooth fairy. Derek, who now lost everything, gets more upset now that Tracy gets his life better and Tracy heads back home.

Derek, benched for the entire game, gets back on the ice and sees Tracy, who wants him to make a goal and go to get Tess' lose tooth. Derek "actually" makes the goal, gets into his tooth fairy costume, and flies away - while Tracy spreads Amnesia Dust on everyone. Tess sees Derek taking her tooth and promises to keep it a secret, and Derek gives Randy a new guitar (the same one he was practing in the guitar store earlier in the movie) as an apology and flies him to the talent show. Carly sees him as a tooth fairy costume, but assumes that he rented a costume, so she doesn't suspect. Randy gets dusted, and Tess is only six, so Derek is safe from discovery. Derek heads back to the fairy realm to give Lily the tooth, and gets fairy-dusted by her, then teleported back to the talent show. There, he sees Randy, who outperforms everyones expectations, and manages to get a band to play with him. As the movie ends, Derek is shown proposing to Carly, and she accepts.

In the credits, a cut scene is shown, with Derek now the starting right wing for the Los Angeles Kings, and when he sees Jerry, who comes to one of his games, he doesn't recognize him. Jerry reports back to Lily, who was also at the game, to tell her that the secret is safe.

Within hours of being released to the streets, Shane finds himself the intended victim of a street robbery. Using a combination of brutal boxing and martial arts skills, Shane takes out his two attackers. Unable to cope in the noisy city Shane takes to the road. Cut to a rest stop along a lonely stretch of highway. It’s early evening and there are no other cars in the lot with the exception of Shane who sits atop the hood of his car taking long pulls from the half empty whisky bottle. That’s when he witnesses a state trooper pulling over a car containing two chinese nationals. When the chinese nationals kill the state trooper and try to kill a few witnesses, Shane is forced to intervene. In a brutal fight he kills one of the attackers and sends the other running off into the desert.
When Shane checks on the dead cop he hears noise coming from the trunk of the chinese national’s car. Inside he finds an unconscious girl and a duffel bag full of cash. Fearing that the cops will implicate him in the death of the trooper and knowing that the chinese national will return with back-up, Shane takes the girl, the cash and one lone survivor into the nearest small town.

The teen Russian boy he saved is dropped off and Shane takes the now conscious girl to a motel. She begs him not to turn her over to the cops or the chinese. What Shane learns is she was part of an illegal diamond sale that went wrong. She was taken hostage and her father was supposed to pay a ransom to the chinese mafia. If the local police or the chinese get her she will be used as ransom and then probably killed. The girl explains that the town they are in is under the control of the chinese mafia. That the two man police department is actually run by them. She tells Shane that he can keep the cash if he gets her to safety.

After a home invasion leaves his wife and daughter dead, engineer Clyde Shelton (Gerard Butler) is told that one of the criminals responsible will not be convicted, as much of the evidence against that criminal was compromised by a bungled forensic investigation. Shelton pleads for the prosecutor, Nick Rice (Jamie Foxx), to take the case to court. However, Rice is mostly interested in maintaining his 96% conviction rate, and tells Shelton that it does not matter what is right, but what can be proven in court, stating that it's how the justice system works. Rice then makes a deal with Clarence Darby (Christian Stolte), the actual criminal who murdered Shelton's wife and daughter, for third-degree murder; his accomplice, Rupert Ames (Josh Stewart), is sent to death row on what is essentially a theft charge. Shelton later sees Rice shaking hands with Darby as if they had just finished a deal, feeling betrayed.
Ten years later, Ames is executed by lethal injection; due to a chemical alteration, he dies an agonizing death. Initial evidence leads to Darby, who is alerted to the presence of police by a stranger who calls Darby's phone, helping him escape. The stranger orders Darby to throw away his gun and get in a cop car. He says that he will find a cop in the car sleeping. The caller tells Darby to make the cop drive to an abandoned warehouse. Once at the warehouse, Darby forces the cop out of the car and, with the cop's gun, gets ready to execute him. However, the cop is revealed to be Shelton in disguise, who reveals that he's also the stranger who called Darby in; when Darby attempts to shoot him, the gun handle injects him with tetrodotoxin, paralyzing him. Shelton proceeds to lead Darby into the warehouse, where he straps him to an operating table, confessing that he had caused the chemical alteration that killed Ames. At that point, Shelton systematically dismembers Darby alive in revenge of his family's demise. The police come upon Darby's remains, and they quickly arrest Shelton, who allows them to do so.

Rice arrives to interrogate Shelton and congratulate him on removing Darby from society. While he's doing so, Shelton initially appears to confess to the crime, and Rice begins to depart, but Shelton points out that his carefully worded statement was not technically a confession. During this time, Rice's family, whom Rice cannot spend enough time with due to the nature of his work (for example, he is unable to attend his daughter's cello recitals), receives a DVD of Shelton torturing Darby to his death. Shelton agrees to make a real confession in exchange for an expensive mattress in his prison cell. Rice agrees after his superior orders him to, as there is virtually no real evidence connecting Shelton to the murder. At his hearing, Shelton opposes Rice's motion to deny him bail, citing obscure legal precedents. After Judge Laura Burch (Annie Corley), who also presided at Darby's trial, agrees, Shelton begins a tirade, railing against the judge's myopia for the law versus justice, and is removed for contempt of court.

Rice delivers Shelton's mattress and receives his confession of the murders of Darby and Ames. However, Shelton bargains to make another confession for the life of Bill Reynolds (Richard Portnow), Darby's attorney. Shelton claims that Reynolds is alive, and will give his location in exchange for an expensive steak dinner delivered at precisely 1 p.m., along with music from his iPod. Despite repeating that the time must be exact, Warden Inger (Gregory Itzin) forces multiple searches, resulting in Shelton receiving his lunch eight minutes late. After finally getting Reynolds' location, Rice and Detective Dunnigan (Colm Meaney) take a helicopter to it, only to find Reynolds buried alive and only minutes dead, with Inger's delay causing him to suffocate. Shelton, after finishing lunch and sharing with his cell mate, brutally murders him using the bone from the steak. Shelton is then put into a solitary confinement cell underground. After Rice's assistant, Sarah Lowell (Leslie Bibb), finds evidence of contract payments to Shelton from the Department of Defense, district attorney Jonas Cantrell (Bruce McGill) takes Rice to meet a CIA operative (Michael Kelly) who worked with Shelton. The operative tells them that Shelton was a "brain" for the CIA, working in a black ops think tank, that he was the best in the field until he retired, and that if Shelton wants them dead, he'll succeed in it unless they kill him first. The following day, Rice and Cantrell convince Judge Burch to sign an order restricting Shelton's privileges, despite the fact that this might violate his civil rights. Moments later, the judge answers her cell phone and the phone explodes and kills the judge.

Rice confronts Shelton, who says the killings are not about revenge, but about the failure of the justice system, and Rice's personal failure to keep his word to place the criminals convicted in the first place. He then claims that, unless he is released with all charges dropped by 6 A.M., he will kill everyone in the DA's office. The office workers congregate at the prison, they once again do not listen to Shelton and 6 A.M. passes by. Rice sends them all home to rest. As they enter their cars, bombs go off from underneath each vehicle, killing six, including Rice's protege Sarah. Realizing that Shelton is keeping good to his word, Rice becomes puzzled over Shelton's spree of murders on the outside while he's behind bars, leaving him to speculate that Shelton has an accomplice.

At Sarah's funeral, a remote drone slaughters several attendees, including Cantrell. Rice is appointed acting DA by the mayor (Viola Davis), and a massive meeting is called to determine a way to remove Shelton. Rice, via Sarah's computer, receives some information that points to Shelton owning a garage right next to the prison. He and Dunnigan examine the garage, finding a tunnel system leading to every solitary cell underground, including Shelton's, which can explain how Shelton solely does his dirty work to commit the murders. Upon entering Shelton's cell, Rice finds it empty.
Shelton, dressed as a custodian, plants a napalm bomb in City Hall, planning to kill the mayor and most of the senior staff of the Philadelphia emergency services as the final cog of his master plan; however, Rice finds it just in time. Upon his return to his cell, Shelton is confronted by Rice. Shelton offers one final deal which Rice refuses, stating that he no longer makes deals with murderers (the origin of Shelton's anger). Rice calmly tells Shelton that if he attempts to detonate the bomb, he'll have to live with the consequences of that action for the rest of his life. Shelton, after considering for a long moment, does so anyway, and Rice locks shut Shelton's cell, while Dunnigan locks his escape route. Shelton quickly realizes the bomb was placed under his cot, but nevertheless, doesn't care about that anymore, as he calmly looks at a bracelet made by his daughter just before the home invasion. At that time, the bomb goes off, killing Shelton and blowing part of the prison off.
The film ends with Rice finally joining his wife for his daughter's recital.

Screen Australia announced on 29 September 2009 that the film has been nominated as Australia's official entry in the Academy Awards best foreign language film category.

Mary Horowitz (Sandra Bullock) is a crossword puzzle writer for a Sacramento, California newspaper. As brilliant as her puzzles are, her life is not—she’s socially awkward, lives with her parents, and her only friend is her hamster Carol. After a talk at a school career day where the children make fun of her obsession with words and her red patent leather go-go boots, Mary drags home to face a blind date that her parents set up with Steve Mueller (Bradley Cooper), a cameraman for a cable news channel. Contrary to her belief that he’s probably gay Steve turns out to be handsome and charming, and Mary is immediately smitten. When they go out to his car she attempts to pounce on him but is thwarted by the seat belt; eventually she succeeds. Steve is excited at first, but quickly finds Mary's incessant talking about random facts and their destiny to be together very scary. He is saved by a phone call from work, which takes him out of Mary's clutches. He says he has to go, and that life on the road is tough. He wishes she could join him, but since she has an important job it just won't work out. He gives her an umbrella as a gift and escorts her out of his car before taking off into the night.

Mary misreads his intentions and falls head over heels in love, staying up all night to create a new crossword for the week that’s completely Steve-themed. The whole city is perplexed by the oddball crossword, and Mary loses her job for being unprofessional. Sitting in the bathtub wallowing in her misery, she realizes that she just needed to line up the clues to figure out her next step. She now has no job that would keep her from following Steve on the road. So she starts watching the news and figures out how to track him down. Her first attempt fails--her annoying fact spewing on a bus gets her kicked off in the middle of nowhere--but in the process she charms a truck driver who finds her annoying yet oddly sweet and genuine.

Meanwhile Steve has given no more thought to Mary, consumed with working with over-the-top ambitious reporter Hartman Hughes (Thomas Haden Church) and Angus Tran (Ken Jeong), a fellow journalist and "chaperone." While covering a breaking news story about a 3-legged baby caught in a custody battle, Mary arrives via taxi and finds Steve, who's shocked and a bit frightened that Mary has found him. He'd heard about the crossword "All About Steve," and was naturally creeped out. Steve tells her he has to go to work, and Mary finds herself with some of the odd protesters making signs and lighting candles. Even though they are all a little "off" by normal standards, they're kind and welcoming to Mary, who fits in. She makes friends quickly. Hartman encourages Mary to continue to pursue Steve, and no matter how many times Steve tells her that he doesn't want her there Mary doesn’t believe him. When the story wraps and Steve, Hartman and Angus are leaving the scene, Mary chases after the van in hopes of finding out where Steve is going next. Hartman tips her off that they are going to Galveston to track a hurricane, and accompanied by two of her new friends Mary heads to Texas.

Before they can find Steve, however, a tornado stops them in their tracks and the three friends have to take cover in a sewer drain. Their car is ripped away, leaving them alive but completely alone and deserted. Hartman writes a message on the back of a bucket of fried chicken with their next destination, and Mary decides that she's on a road that she can't turn back on. She has to see where this road to Steve ends. Her friends stick by her and the three of them continue to follow Steve.
The movie culminates at the site of an abandoned mine shaft, where a bunch of deaf children have fallen after the ground caves in on them. News crews from all across the country come in to cover the story, and Hartmann sees this as his chance to beat his competitor and win a shot as an anchor as CCN. One by one the children are pulled out of the mineshaft, and as the last child is pulled out, the ground gives way and the crane tips over. The fire department tells everyone that the ground isn't safe and they all need to move back. Just then Mary arrives and, seeing Steve, races over to see him, falling right into the mineshaft. Suddenly Mary is a media star, and footage of her falling into the shaft is played over and over. The reporters dig up every detail of her life, bombard her parents' home, and CCN puts Steve on the spot to talk about his grief over "his girlfriend." Steve, feeling guilty for how he's treated Mary, goes on the air and says that Mary is perfect the way she is, though most people don't get her. She's kind and smart and she doesn't deserve any of this. Meanwhile, a crowd of Mary's friends gather around the site to hold a vigil. One of her friends confronts Hartman, telling him that he did all of this to Mary, and what she did was bring together a group of wonderful people who actually care about her.
While Mary is fishing her way out of the murky waters at the bottom of the mineshaft, she discovers one little deaf girl that the fire department forgot. Mary, who knows a little sign language, is able to communicate with the girl. As the hours go by Mary at once tries to figure out how to escape the mine and realizes that her pursuit of Steve is futile. She is able to jerry-rig the collapsed crane with counterweights to lift them out, but as they are rising a guilt-stricken Hartman dives into the shaft and brings them to the bottom again. After asking Hartman’s weight, Mary adjusts the rocks and all rise to the surface to be greeted by her family and new friends. Steve apologizes to Mary for his treatment of her, which she accepts before leaving him to join her “normal” crowd.

It seems, however, that Burke has not been following his own advice, and in fact has not been dealing with the loss of his wife. In the end, he confesses to an audience that he was driving the car, and not his wife, as he previously maintained. Due to this, he blames himself for her death. Eloise, along with his wife's father, (Martin Sheen), help Burke move past his wife's death.

The film was originally set for release on May 22, 2009, but was pushed back to allow more post-production time. It premiered in London on December 10, 2009 and was released in the United Kingdom on December 17, 2009, one day prior to its theatrical release in the United States. Released by 20th Century Fox, the film was co-produced by Lightstorm Entertainment, and focuses on an epic conflict on Pandora, an inhabited Earth-sized moon of Polyphemus, one of three fictional gas giants orbiting Alpha Centauri A. On Pandora, human colonists and the sentient humanoid indigenous inhabitants of Pandora, the Na'vi, engage in a war over the planet's resources and the latter's continued existence. The film's title refers to the remotely controlled, genetically engineered human-Na'vi bodies used by the film's human characters to interact with the natives.

Avatar had been in development since 1994 by Cameron, who wrote a 114-page scriptment for the film. Filming was supposed to take place after the completion of Titanic, and the film would have been released in 1999, but according to Cameron, "technology needed to catch up" with his vision of the film. In early 2006, Cameron developed the script, the language, and the culture of Pandora. Cameron has stated that if Avatar is successful, he hopes to make two sequels to the film.

The film was released in traditional 2D and 3D formats, along with an IMAX 3D release in selected theaters. The film is estimated to have cost over $300 million to produce, and another estimated $200 million for the distribution and other costs, thus totaling to about half a billion dollars. Avatar is being touted as a breakthrough in terms of filmmaking technology, for its development of 3D viewing and stereoscopic filmmaking with cameras that were specially designed for the film's production. Opening to critical acclaim, it earned an estimated $27 million on its opening day and an estimated $73 million after two days.

The horror starts with a pandemic virus that has already spread world-wide. Two brothers, Brian and Danny, along with Brian's girlfriend Bobby and Danny's friend Kate, are heading to a place where they believe they can wait for the viral pandemic to die out, along with the infected-- namely a place called Turtle Beach, where Brian and Danny used to spend their holidays as children. They come across a van parked in the middle of the road, where a man stops them, looking for fuel for his car. They realise his daughter, who is in the backseat of the van is infected and they refuse to help, attempting to drive around the van which is blocking the road. The man attacks their car, and while trying to evade him, their car is irrevocably damaged. The four teenagers have no choice but to join the father and his infected daughter in order to use their fully functioning van, providing the gas from their own car, making a deal with the man that they will drive him to a school where it is rumoured that a serum has been developed that could help the infected, in order to help the little girl. Upon reaching the school they encounter a doctor with several infected children. The doctor explains the serum only slowed down the virus, prolonging the disease by three days, and that as a result he is planning on euthanizing the children, claiming that "living is sometimes a more painful way of dying". Meanwhile in the car the little girl's breathing becomes compromised and Bobby (who remained with her while the others went into the school) tries to help, taking off the child's mask to help her breathe. The little girl begins to cough, and coughs blood into Bobby's face. Fearing that she may be infected, she doesn't tell the others when they return, still in shock. The little girl asks to go to the bathroom, and her father reluctantly takes her, knowing the teenagers will take his car and leave them behind, but seeing no other choice. Before he walks away he tells Danny that he seems like a good man. The teenagers drive away, knowing they are leaving father and daughter to their deaths.

Soon they come across an hotel and relax, playing golf. Bobby refuses to have any physical contact with Brian, to his bewilderment. Eventually he grabs her and kisses her passionately, to which she pushes him away in terror. Unknown to them, the hotel is already occupied, and when several men in hazmat suits appear, they take the teenagers hostage, and it is implied that they are going to rape Bobby and Kate. They order the girls to strip to see if they are infected, revealing a tell-tale symptomatic rash on Bobby's body, to Brian's horror. In their hysterical fear, Brian, Bobby, Kate and Danny run to the van and drive away, now knowing that Bobby is infected. When they reach a gas station, Kate tells Danny they will end up dead if Bobby comes with them. Danny reluctantly goes to speak to his brother, who simply tells them to get in the car. From there, he forces Bobby out the van. Brian and Bobby argue and Bobby begs him not to leave her behind, telling him she loves him. Feeling there's no other choice, Brian gives Bobby a few tips on how to keep alive longer and he and the rest of the group leave Bobby at the gas station and drive away.

Later the car runs out of gas, and Brian, who has been oddly calm since abandoning his girlfriend at the gas station becomes increasingly more violent. Another car appears, driving towards them, and Brian accelerates aggressively, before blocking their progress along the road. Danny leaves the car and attempts to plead with the two ladies in the car for gas; but they are too frightened to help them. Brian takes out a gun and shoots at them, killing one of the ladies while the other one takes out a gun of her own and shoots him in the leg. He then shoots her. Danny is horrified and furiously demands to know why. Brian then reveals that he feels he has to take care of everything so Danny can have a conscience-free life, such as lying to their parents that they would "be back soon", while intending on escaping. Danny is distressed, realising that Brian had lied, presumably telling him their infected parents were dead, while in fact they had abandoned them while they were still alive. When trying to dress the wound in Brian's leg, Danny discovers that Brian is infected also. Kate convinces Danny they have to leave him behind. Danny takes the keys to the car but realizes that Brian, who is now awake, has the keys. Danny says his goodbyes and kills his brother. Together Danny and Kate reach their destination, Turtle Beach, the place which holds so many memories for Danny. He realises that without his brother, the place that had seemed so special to them as kids is now empty. The film ends, leaving their fate uncertain.

Two astronauts, Bower (Foster) and Payton (Quaid), wake up from suspended animation to find themselves alone, with no memory of who they are, what they are doing, or what has happened to the crew of their 60,000 passenger sleeper ship the Elysium. They are unable to access the ship's bridge, and cannot communicate with any other members of the crew, including the flight team they are to relieve.[5] While exploring the spacecraft under Payton's radio guidance, Bower talks with Payton about Pandorum, a psychological condition brought on by extended periods of hyper-sleep (suspended animation) and its symptoms and effects, including severe paranoia, vivid hallucinations, and homicidal tendencies.

As Bower explores on, he encounters dead bodies, and fast-moving humanoid creatures. Escaping from one of them, he then encounters other human survivors, and they work together to reach the ship's nuclear reactor. The reactor will fail permanently if Bower does not reset it soon. Moving on, the group encounters another survivor, who tells them the story of what had happened before they awakened. Their mission is revealed to be one of desperation. Earth, suffering from massive overpopulation, dispatched the sleeper ship and its crew on a 123-year voyage to a new, Earth-like planet called Tanis to create a settlement. When the ship receives one last message from Earth, informing them that Earth was no more and that they were the last survivors, one of the three crew members (as there are usually three flight crew active at any one shift) turned insane, killed his other two crew mates, then played God by awakening most of the crew and doing what he pleased with them. When he grew bored of it, he went back into suspended animation and left the rest of the crew wakened. Genetic augments that every crew member had received prior to the mission (for quick adaptation to the new planet) had instead adapted them to the ship, turning them into the cannibalistic monsters that Bower and the other survivors have been encountering. This survivor then knocks them out with gas. Upon awakening, they find themselves chained up, with the survivor about to kill them for food.
Meanwhile, Payton discovers another crew member, Gallo, who reveals to him that he was part of the flight crew that received the message from Earth. After receiving the Earth's last message, Gallo gives a different account from what Bower has heard, that the other two crew mates with Gallo had an onset of Pandorum and, eventually, Gallo was forced to kill them in order to survive. By now, most of the ship's population is either dead or mutated.

Bower manages to convince the survivor to allow them to restart the ship reactor. The group fights their way to the ship's reactor, and Bower eventually restarts it. While moving through the passenger hypersleep storage area, he sees the pod for Payton's wife, and his memories now allow him to realize that Payton is not who he says he is. Payton is actually Gallo, and the "Gallo" that the audience has been seeing, is actually just the other part of "Payton's" consciousness, and the man who has been calling himself Payton is in fact the aged Gallo, who was the one to succumb to Pandorum and kill his other two crew mates. Bower then fights with Payton/Gallo while simultaneously battling the symptoms of Pandorum, and during this he inadvertently causes a hull breach. The ship at this point is revealed to have actually been under water for a long time now, having landed on the Earth-like planet of Tanis, their original destination. The ship's log shows the mission has been ongoing for 923 years. Water then starts pouring in, killing Payton/Gallo.

Bower escapes with the last known survivor by ejecting his hypersleep pod from the ship. The hull breach causes the ship's computer to initiate an emergency evacuation, ejecting the remaining 1,211 crew members still hibernating and unmutated onto the new world Tanis, with its beautiful scenery and two moons in its sky, that is to be the new home for humanity--or whatever it's going to mutate into.

In 2034, mind-control technology has taken society by storm. Ken Castle (Michael C. Hall) has revolutionized the gaming industry with his invention of self-replicating nanites. The nanites colonize in the brain, gradually taking over the existing brain cells and allowing full control of all motor functions by a third party. The first off-shoot of this technology was Society, an online community in which gamers pay to control a real person in a pseudo community, much like current simulated worlds such as Second Life. Those who work as characters in Society are paid for their participation, unlike Castle's latest creation, Slayers. A multiplayer, first-person shooter game, Slayers allows gamers to control death row prisoners in mass-scale death matches. Any inmate who lives through 30 matches wins his freedom. Simon, a 17-year old trust fund baby (Logan Lerman), controls Kable (Gerard Butler), the online champion of the game, having won 27 matches and lived through them all. Slayers and Society are hugely popular, making Castle the richest man in America within a matter of weeks. However, Castle's organization is the target of a activist group called Humanz, who claim the nanite technology has a more ominous purpose. When a virus hacks into the video mainstreams broadcasting a message from the elusive rebel group, Simon is offered the chance to communicate with Kable while in-game, which is not allowed. After a stranger gives Kable a warning that the game's mastermind plans to kill him, Kable asks Simon to relinquish control and uses the opportunity to escape.
Kable is taken to the rebels' leader (Ludacris) who explains that the mind control technology used on Kable and the other Slayers can potentially be used without discretion on anyone, leading to the extinction of independent thought. He also gives Kable directions to where he can break his wife out of Society, where she has been working as a character since his incarceration. Kable arrives, and, after a brief shootout with security, manages to escape with his wife. While the rebels attempt to deactivate the cells from his wife's mind that make the mind control possible, Kable is taken into another room. The leader reveals that Kable was once a soldier, working on a future cellular control project. His friend was the first to receive the cell transplant. However, Castle decided to discover the true limits of the mind control and force Kable to kill his friend, leading to his conviction for first-degree murder and subsequent death row sentence.

Some four years later, the game Slayers came out, with Kable as one of the leading stars. Kable is then informed that his daughter has been placed with a foster family...Castle himself. Kable infiltrates Castles' mansion, but is confronted by Castle who is singing and dancing to music, all the while forcing other death row inmates to dance along with him. After a brief fight between Kable and the inmates, Castle leads him into a room with a large basketball court. Castle reveals that he also received the transplant, however, the cellular structure in him allows him to control anyone else who has the cells. This is proven when, having obtained a knife, Kable attempts to kill Castle only to find himself frozen still. Castle then savagely beats Kable and brings in his wife and daughter. Meanwhile, rebel members manage to broadcast their confrontation all over the world.

Kable is forced to crawl to his family, and Castle then attempts to force him to kill his own daughter. After a brief struggle of wills, Kable manages to move the knife away. Simon then returns in control of Kable and, using his controller software that he uses to control Kable in-game, Kable tricks Castle into using his controlling cells to stab himself in the stomach. After Castle dies, Kable requests for Castles' employees, who have been watching, to release the family from their control. They do this, and, with the words "Well played, Kable", depart. The movie then ends with Kable driving through a tunnel in Glacier National Park with his daughter and wife in the car.

Ben 10 Alien Swarm 2009

The film opens as Ben (Ryan Kelley), Gwen (Galadriel Stineman), and Kevin (Nathan Keyes) are negotiating with a group of black market dealers, who are attempting to sell them alien nanotechnology. One of them reveals herself to be Elena (Alyssa Diaz), a childhood friend of Ben and Gwen and a fellow Plumber's kid. Elena explains that she had set up the negotiations to lure Ben out into the open, and explains that her father has been abducted and that she needs their help to find him.

Just as Ben agrees to help her, the chips suddenly spring to life, controlled by a mysterious man hiding in the rafters. Kevin immediately labels it a double cross, though Elena insists that she is not responsible. While the dealers escape, Ben transforms into Big Chill (voiced by Dee Bradley Baker) and drives off the intruder. Elena escapes in the confusion, further justifying Kevin's suspicions. Ben, however, is not as easily convinced.

Arriving at their headquarters underneath the Bellwood auto repair shop, the trio, along with Max (Barry Corbin), study the chips, learning that they are a hybrid of organic and technological components. Elena, having followed the trio, breaks in; Max orders her to leave, explaining that Elena's father, Victor Validus (Herbert Siguenza), was an apprentice of his who was dishonorably discharged after stealing the original chips. Ben refuses to believe that Elena is like her father, and breaks ranks to help her.

While Max is away, Gwen and Kevin hack into the computer files relating to Victor Validus and discover a video of Max interrogating Victor, in which Victor insists that "the Hive", the hive mind intelligence behind the chips, is coming to take over the planet. Realizing that Max's anger towards Victor's betrayal may be clouding his judgment, Gwen and Kevin decide to aid Ben as well.
Meanwhile, Ben and Elena arrive at Victor's old laboratory. It has been cleared out by the Hive, but they have left Ship-It order slips behind. Other leftover files in the office indicate that Victor was studying and upgrading the chips, and a picture indicates that Elena is close to the person controlling them. A group of people under the control of the chips attack Ben and Elena, forcing them to retreat. They head to the Ship-It building to investigate further.

Gwen and Kevin, having reached the building first, are too late to stop the distribution of the chips. Instead, they are met by one of the Ship-It employees, who is similarly possessed by the chips. He directs a chip swarm to attack Gwen and Kevin, which eventually wreck Kevin's car after a lengthy chase. Ben, having overheard the commotion and followed them, uses Humongousaur (voiced by Dee Bradley Baker) to defeat the swarm, completely demolishing Kevin's car in the process.
By the time they return to headquarters, the chips have been spread across the globe, and now number in the millions. The group deduces that there must be a queen (voiced by Vicki Lewis) controlling the Hive, and by destroying her they will likely destroy the chips as well. During their search for the queen, however, one of the chips takes over Max. Pulling together, the group notices an anomaly in the chip distribution; while world population centers are all infected, the relatively remote Barren Rock, Missouri, has the highest concentration. The town is home to the central headquarters of Ship-It. With Kevin's car out of commission, Kevin reveals that he has built a second car for Ben as a late birthday present.

Infiltrating the factory, the group discovers that the queen has infected Elena's father, whose body is being used to mass produce the chips. Ben uses the Omnitrix to transform into a new alien that he dubs "Nanomech" (voiced by Alex Winter) which was created by scanning the DNA of the chips over the course of the film. He enters Victor's brain and battles the queen while Gwen, Kevin, and Elena fight the drones. After a grueling battle, Ben destroys the queen and thus the entirety of the chips, freeing everybody from their control.

In the aftermath, Max, after personally apologizing to Victor, decides to retire and leave his position as leader to Ben, but Ben refuses to allow him to do so. The film ends as Ben, Gwen, Kevin, and Elena drive home.

The book had incomplete advice, the Bible leads them on a hilarious journey to lose their virginity. Thereafter they pledge to restore the book, they find the name of the creator of the book Mr. Levenstein (Jim's father, adviser to all the hapless, creator of the Naked (DESNUDO) Mile, etc) and start the restoration.

On her 18th birthday, Bella Swan wakes up from a dream in which she sees herself as an old woman. She expresses her distaste with growing older than her boyfriend Edward Cullen, a vampire who stopped aging at 17. Edward's family throws Bella a birthday party. While unwrapping a gift, Bella gets a paper cut, which causes Edward's adopted brother, Jasper, to be overwhelmed by her blood's scent and attempt to kill her. Realizing the danger he and his family pose to Bella, Edward decides to end their relationship, and the Cullens move away from Forks.

Edward's departure leaves Bella heart-broken and depressed for months. However, when her father, Charlie, attempts to send her to live with her mother, Bella agrees to spend time with her other friends. While shopping with Jessica, she sees a group of men Edward had rescued her from earlier and is surprised to see a vision of Edward warning her against approaching them. Bella discovers all thrill-seeking activities grant her visions of Edward. She also seeks comfort in her deepening friendship with Jacob Black, a cheerful companion who eases her pain over losing Edward and nearly replaces him; Bella and Jake nearly kiss twice, but are interrupted. Bella discovers that Jacob is a werewolf. After learning the vampires Laurent and Victoria are searching for Bella, Jacob's pack members begin constant patrols, leaving Jacob little time for Bella. Alone, Bella returns to thrill seeking activities.

A series of miscommunications leads Edward to believe that Bella has killed herself while cliff diving. Distraught over her supposed suicide, Edward flees to Italy to provoke the Volturi, vampire royalty who are capable of killing him, by exposing the existance of vampires. Alice, Edward's adopted sister, and Bella rush to Italy to save Edward, and arrive just in time to stop him. However, the Volturi decide that Bella, a human who knows that vampires exist, must either be killed or transformed into a vampire. Alice stops them from killing her by showing them a vision of the future in which she has transformed Bella. When they return to Forks, Edward tells Bella that he has always loved her and only left Forks to protect her. She forgives him, and the Cullens vote in favor of Bella being transformed into a vampire, to Edward's dismay. However, Edward gives Bella a choice: either she lets Alice change her after her graduation, or, if Bella agrees to marry him, he will change her himself.

Apocalypto is a 2006 epic film directed by Mel Gibson. Set in Central America, during the declining period of the Maya civilization, Apocalypto depicts the journey of a Mesoamerican tribesman who must escape human sacrifice and rescue his family after the capture and destruction of his village.

The film features a cast of Native American descent, and its Yucatec Maya dialogue is accompanied by subtitles.

The film begins with an epigraph from Will Durant: "A great civilization is not conquered from without until it has destroyed itself from within."
While hunting tapir in the Mesoamerican jungle in the early 16th Century, Jaguar Paw (Rudy Youngblood), his father Flint Sky (Morris Birdyellowhead), and their fellow tribesmen encounter a procession of traumatized and fearful refugees. Speaking in Yucatec Maya, the procession's leader explains that their lands have been ravaged, and asks for Flint Sky's permission to pass through the jungle. When Jaguar Paw and his tribesmen return to their village, Flint Sky tells his son not to let the procession's state of fear seep into him. At night, the tribe's elder tells the village a fable of man forever unable to fill his want, despite having been given the capabilities of all of the animals. The villagers follow the story with music and dance, leaving Jaguar Paw to ponder.

The next morning, Jaguar Paw wakes from a nightmare to see strangers enter the village and set the huts ablaze. The raiders, led by Zero Wolf (Raoul Trujillo), attack and subdue the villagers. Jaguar Paw slips out with his pregnant wife Seven (Dalia Hernández) and his little son Turtles Run, lowering them on a vine into a small cave (a chultun, shaped something like a well) to hide them. Jaguar Paw returns to the village to fight the raiders but is subdued with the rest of the tribe. A raider whom Jaguar Paw attacks and almost kills, the vicious Middle Eye (Gerardo Taracena), slits Flint Sky's throat while Jaguar Paw helplessly watches. His last words to him are to not be afraid. Middle Eye mocks Jaguar Paw by calling him 'Almost' for not being able to kill him. Before the raiders leave the village with their prisoners, one suspicious raider severs the vine leading into the ground cave, trapping Jaguar Paw's wife and son within, in part due to Jaguar Paw's staring gaze towards the cave.

The raiders and their captives trek toward the Maya city, encountering razed forests, falling trees, failed maize crops, slaves producing plaster, and the sick and dying. A small diseased girl prophesies that a man bringing the jaguar will bring the raiders to those who will scratch out the earth and end their world. In the city's outskirts, the female captives are sold as slaves and the males are escorted to the top of a step pyramid. The high priest sacrifices several captives by decapitating them after pulling out their beating hearts. When Jaguar Paw is about to be sacrificed, a solar eclipse (also prophesied by the girl) stays the priest's hand. He looks at the king, sitting nearby, and the two share a smile while the people below panic at the phenomenon. The priest declares the sun god Kukulkan is satisfied with the sacrifices. He asks Kukulkan to let light return to the world and the eclipse passes. The crowd cheers in amazement and the priest orders that the remaining captives be disposed of.

Zero Wolf takes the villagers to an amphitheater. The captives are released in pairs and forced to run the length of the open space within the amphitheater to give Zero Wolf's men target practice, with a cynical promise of freedom should they reach the end of the field alive. However, Zero Wolf's son, Cut Rock, is sent to the end of the field to "dispose of" any survivors. The raiders target them with javelins, arrows, and slingstones as they run. Jaguar Paw is struck by an arrow through the abdomen but reaches the end of the field and breaks off the arrowhead. As Cut Rock approaches to finish him off with an obsidian blade, Jaguar Paw shoves the broken arrow into Cut Rock's throat. As Cut Rock bleeds out with Zero Wolf easing him into the next life, Jaguar Paw escapes through a withered maize field and an open mass grave. The enraged Zero Wolf and his raiders pursue Jaguar Paw into the jungle and back toward Jaguar Paw's home. Along the way, one of the raiders is killed by a black jaguar that has been disturbed by Jaguar Paw. As he flees, Jaguar Paw jumps over a high waterfall and survives, declaring from the riverbank below that the raiders are now in his homelands.

Zero Wolf's raiders jump the waterfall as well, then fall to both the forest's elements and Jaguar Paw's traps. A heavy rain sets in, which begins to flood the ground cave in which Jaguar Paw's wife and son are still trapped. Jaguar Paw kills one raider with a poisoned dart and bludgeons Middle Eye in hand-to-hand combat and kills Zero Wolf by leading him into a trap meant for hunting tapir. He is chased by two remaining raiders out to a beach where they encounter Hernan Cortez and his men making their way ashore in boats. The amazement of the raiders allows Jaguar Paw to flee. He returns into the forest to pull his wife and son out of the flooded pit where they are hiding around the time when Seven gives birth to a child. He returns in time to save the family, and sees that his wife has given birth to a healthy second son. As the family walks near the coastline, Jaguar Paw's wife asks what the strange objects near the shore are. Jaguar Paw responds only that "they bring men." Jaguar Paw and his family go deeper into the forest, "to seek a new beginning," leaving the Spanish who are anchored in ships off the beach.

James, a tracker vampire, is intrigued by Edward's protectiveness over a human and wants to hunt Bella for sport. Edward and his family risk their lives to protect her, but James tracks Bella to Phoenix where she is hiding and lures her into a trap by claiming he is holding her mother hostage. James attacks Bella and bites her wrist, but Edward, along with the other Cullen family members, arrives before he can kill her. James is destroyed, and Edward sucks James's venom from Bella's wrist, preventing her from becoming a vampire. A severely injured Bella is taken to a hospital. Upon returning to Forks, Bella and Edward attend their school prom. While there, Bella expresses her desire to become a vampire, which Edward refuses. The film ends with Victoria secretly watching the pair dancing, plotting revenge for her lover James' murder.

On June 13, 1980, a young Jason Voorhees (Caleb Guss) witnesses his mother (Nana Visitor) beheaded by a camp counselor (Stephanie Rhodes) who was trying to escape Mrs. Voorhees's murderous rampage around Camp Crystal Lake. Approximately 30 years later, a group of vacationing friends—Wade (Jonathan Sadowski), Richie (Ben Feldman), Mike (Nick Mennell), Whitney (Amanda Righetti) and Amanda (America Olivo)—arrive at Crystal Lake on a camping trip to find some marijuana that was planted in the woods. As Mike and Whitney explore the abandoned Crystal Lake camp, an adult Jason (Derek Mears) begins to kill the rest of the group one-by-one. Jason also kills Mike, but instead of doing the same to Whitney he decides to kidnap her because she resembles his mother at a young age.

Six weeks later, Trent (Travis Van Winkle), along with his girlfriend Jenna (Danielle Panabaker), and their friends Bree (Julianna Guill), Chewie (Aaron Yoo), Chelsea (Willa Ford), Nolan (Ryan Hansen) and Lawrence (Arlen Escarpeta) arrive at Trent's summer cabin, which sits on Crystal Lake. The group is unaware of the events that occurred a few weeks prior. Additionally, Clay Miller (Jared Padalecki) arrives in town to search Crystal Lake for his sister Whitney, whom he believes to be alive. Clay eventually makes his way to Trent's cabin, where Jenna agrees to help him look for his sister on the other side of the lake. As Clay and Jenna search for clues to Whitney's disappearance, Jason kills Nolan and Chelsea, who are waterskiing on the lake. Clay and Jenna reach the old Crystal Lake campgrounds, where they witness Jason hauling a dead body into one of the abandoned camp houses.

The pair run back to warn the others about Jason, who arrives shortly after them and cuts the power to the cabin. After killing Chewie and Lawrence, who ventured outside the house, Jason sneaks inside the cabin and kills Bree. Trent, Clay and Jenna escape the house, but Trent is killed when he reaches the main road. Jason then chases Clay and Jenna back to the campgrounds, where Clay discovers Jason's lair and finds his sister chained to the wall. Clay frees Whitney, and all three attempt to escape as Jason arrives. The trio find an exit, but Jenna is killed before she can get out. Jason comes after Clay and Whitney, but Whitney uses Jason's love and memory of his mother—by pretending to be Mrs. Voorhees—to distract him long enough to stab him in the chest with his own machete. Afterward, Clay dumps Jason's lifeless body into the lake. Before he and Whitney can leave, Jason bursts through the wooden dock and grabs Whitney.

The film briefly references Mayanism, the Mesoamerican Long Count calendar, and the 2012 phenomenon in its portrayal of cataclysmic events unfolding in the year 2012. Due to solar flare bombardment the Earth's core begins heating up at an unprecedented rate. This results in a series of Doomsday event scenarios plunging the world into chaos, such as California falling into the Pacific Ocean, the eruption of the Yellowstone National Park caldera, shifting of the continents by crustal displacement, Megatsunami impacts along every coast line on the Earth, and the flooding of the entire planet. The film centers around an ensemble cast of characters as they narrowly escape multiple catastrophes in an effort to reach ships in the Tibetan Himalayan Mountains, along with scientists and governments of the world who are attempting to save as many lives as they can before the disasters ensue.

Reviews of the film have been mixed, with several critics pointing out the improbability of some of the Apocalyptic scenarios depicted in the film. Blood: The Last Vampire, released in Japan as Last Blood (ラスト・ブラッド Rasuto Buraddo?), is a 2009 live-action remake of the 2000 anime horror film of the same name. Directed by Chris Nahon and co-produced by Hong Kong-based Edko and French company Pathé with the blessing of Production I.G, the English language film was released in Japan and other Asian markets on May 29, 2009. It was released in the United Kingdom on June 18, 2009 and saw a limited release to theaters in the United States starting on July 10, 2009. The film focuses on a half-human, half-vampire girl named Saya who hunts full-blooded vampires in partnership with humans and seeks to destroy Onigen, the most powerful of vampires.

Saya is a 400-year-old half human-half vampire who hunts other vampires. Raised by a man named Kato, she works loosely with an organization known as "The Council" while seeking out Onigen, the highest ranking and strongest of vampires. Seeking clues about Onigen, Saya transfers to a school near the Yokota Air Base. Normally a loner, Saya forms a friendship with a young girl named Alice, whom she rescues from some vampires.

G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra 2009

The film opens in France, in 1641. The Scotsman Klan McCullen has been accused of selling weaponry to both the Scots and French. Rather than being executed for treason, the jury brands his face with a white-hot mask in order to humiliate him. In the near future, weapons expert James McCullen (Christopher Eccleston) has created a nanotechnology-based weapon capable of destroying an entire city. His company MARS sells four warheads to NATO, and the U.S. Army is tasked with delivering the warheads. Duke (Channing Tatum) and Ripcord (Marlon Wayans) are delivering the warheads when they are ambushed by the Baroness (Sienna Miller), who Duke recognized to be his ex-fiancee Ana Lewis. Duke and Ripcord are rescued by Scarlett (Rachel Nichols), Snake Eyes (Ray Park) and Heavy Duty (Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje). They take the warheads to The Pit, G.I. Joe's command center in North Africa, and upon arriving rendezvous with General Hawk (Dennis Quaid), the head of the G.I. Joe Team. Hawk takes command of the war-heads and excuses Duke and Ripcord, only to be convinced to have them join his group after Duke reveals that he knows the Baroness.

McCullen is revealed to be using the same nanotechnology to build an army of soldiers with the aid of the Doctor (Joseph Gordon-Levitt), planning on using the warheads to bring panic and bring about a new world order. Using a tracking device, McCullen locates the G.I. Joe base and sends Storm Shadow (Lee Byung-hun) and the Baroness to retrieve the warheads with assistance from Zartan (Arnold Vosloo), inflicting casualties on several G.I. Joe soldiers. After a fight, Storm Shadow and the Baroness retrieve the warheads and take them to Baron DeCobray, the Baroness's husband, for him to weaponize and use them to destroy the Eiffel Tower to serve as a showing of the warhead's destructive power. Making their way to Paris, the Joes pursue them through the streets but are unsuccessful in stopping them from launching the missile. Duke manages to hit the kill switch, but in doing so he is captured and taken to McCullen's base under the Arctic.

G.I. Joe locates the secret base and fly there as McCullen loads three missiles with nano-mite warheads. After Snake Eyes takes out one, Ripcord pursues the remaining missiles in a prototype Night Raven jet while Scarlett and her group infiltrate the base. While Scarlett and Snake Eyes attempt to shut down the Arctic base, with Heavy Duty leading an attack on Cobra's forces, Duke learns that the Doctor is Rex Lewis, Ana's brother believed to have been killed on a mission led by Duke four years ago. He was trapped in a bunker with Doctor Mindbender (Kevin O'Connor), disfigured in the blast which everyone presumed had killed him. The Baroness tries to free Duke but the Doctor reveals he has implanted her with nano-mites which has put her under his control for the past four years, admitting his amazement that she is resisting the programming. Attempting to kill Duke, McCullen ends up being facially burned as he flees with Rex to an escape vessel. Duke and the Baroness pursue him while the Joes fall back when Rex activated the base's self destruct sequence.

Rex then heals McCullen's burned face with nano-mites, encasing it in silver as he christens McCullen "Destro" and assumes the identity of Cobra Commander before they are captured by G.I. Joe soon after. On board the supercarrier USS Flagg, Baroness is placed in protective custody until they can remove the nano-mites from her body. Meanwhile, Zartan, having been earlier operated on by Rex, infiltrates the White House during the missile crisis and assumes the identity of the President of the United States (Jonathan Pryce).
